Arrest Made in Murder of Pizzeria Employee Killed
During Robbery Attempt
(March 8, 2016 Bellaire, TX) . . . Bellaire Police have charged Kiara Elijahjuan Taylor date of birth 9-10-1989 of the 8600 block of Sterling Shire in Houston with Capital Murder for the killing of Peter Mielke at Reginelli’s Pizzeria on Sunday February 21, 2016. Detectives received information regarding a possible suspect on Thursday March 3, 2016. This information led Detectives to Taylor.
Detectives continued to develop information that led to additional evidence which tied Taylor to the killing.
The Bellaire Police Department would like to thank Crime Stoppers of Houston, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences for their work in this case. The Bellaire Police Department also wants to recognize the support and assistance from all parts of the community in the successful investigation of this case.

ON SUNDAY FEBRUARY 21, 2016 @ APPROXIMATELY 2126 HOURS, A B/M SUSPECT ENTERED REGINELLI'S PIZZERIA ARMED WITH A SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. THE SUSPECT ATTEMPTED TO ROB THE RESTAURANT BY FORCING AN EMPLOYEE TO OPEN A CASH REGISTER.THE EMPLOYEE DID NOT HAVE AUTHORITY TO OPEN THE REGISTER. THE SUSPECT SHOT THE EMPLOYEE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE FLEEING THE STORE WITHOUT TAKING ANY CASH OR PROPERTY.THE SUSPECT CALMLY WALKED AWAY FROM THE SCENE S/B ON FERRIS ST. TOWARDS JESSAMINE. SURVEILLANCE VIDEO FROM THE RESTAURANT AND SURROUNDING BUSINESS CAPTURED IMAGES OF THE SUSPECT. THE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A B/M, THIN BUILD, CLOSE CUT HAIR, WEARING DARK COLORED JEANS, DARK COLORED UNTUCKED TSHIRT, BLACK AND WHITE TENNIS SHOES. THE SUSPECT USED A DARK COLORED JACKET TO COVER HIS FACE AND HEAD DURING THE SHOOTING.

Pizzeria Employee Killed in Robbery Attempt
(Update 3 – Release of Additional Video)
(February 25, 2016 Bellaire, TX) . . . The Bellaire Police received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 9:21 PM on Sunday February 21, 2016 in regards to a possible robbery in progress at Reginellis Pizzeria at 5303 Bissonnet. Upon arrival Officers found Peter James Mielke a 19 year old employee of the pizzeria had been shot and killed in a robbery attempt.
The suspect shot Mielke several times when Mielke could not open the cash register. The suspect then left without having taken any cash or property. The suspect calming walked away from the shooting and was last seen walking southbound on Ferris Street.
Surveillance video from Reginelli’s and other businesses in the immediate area show the suspect as a black male, thin build, with close cut hair. The suspect is seen wearing dark colored pants, a dark color shirt which was untucked, as well as black and white athletic type shoes. During the murder, the suspect attempted to cover his face and head with a dark colored jacket he had been wearing prior to entering the pizzeria.
